Losing a gallon of coolant a day (100 miles round trip to work). Not a drop from the tail pipe. Not even smoke or steam. Not a drop in the oil (perfect).
Car has good low end power, but sputters under a higher speed load (highway uphill).
Not a drop anywhere. I even did a dye test - nothing.
I swapped coolant for water, and did get some better high end power, thinking burning water (steam) is better than coolant.
My only thought is that water (coolant) is pouring through the intake and being concerted to steam. (???)
Any ideas? One note......after turning off the hot engine, I hear loud gurgling from the intake. Like a pot of boiling, sucking water. Not normal.
