Manual transimission loose about 10-15% from the crankshaft to the the wheelsOriginally posted by RocketFast321@Dec 11 2004, 05:52 PM
I believe it's said to be that most car lose about 10% between the engine and the ground. So a 200hp durtec would have about 180 at the wheels. i think it's 10% not too sure

That's not correct. No manufacturer gives horsepower at the wheels. It's all crank hp advertised.Originally posted by mwt@Dec 11 2004, 11:27 PM
Don't manufacturers state wheel HP nowadays? Back in the sities and seventy it was at the crank but I am pretty sure it is at the wheels now.

When I got my car Dynoed with it's few engine mods, CAI, Water Injection, and AmericanMotorsport tuning I had 172 Wheel horsepower, and 211 #/ft Torque. There was no exhaust work at that time which would of freed up a little more horsepower.

It looks like he hits peak torque around 5500rpm, somewhere around 200ft/lb. But if he really was making 200 ft/lb at 5500rpm then wouldn't he also be making about 210hp at the same time?Originally posted by jtkz13@Dec 21 2004, 02:56 PM
At what rpm above 5,252 do you see that its making more tq than hp?
