I'll be doing this on my '96 GL when I replace the camshaft synchronizer assembly.
I can find the timing marks on the crank pully, but don't see where they should line up on the timing cover. All I see is a magnetic pickup and a bump sticking out from the cover. Neither one looks it would give you a very precise setting and it could be off at least 5 degrees or more. What are you supposed to line up?
They used to put a little pointy thing down there that made this job easier, but that's old school...
