A couple days ago while raining(may or may not have been an issue?) while on a phone call connected through the car speaker (also may or may not have been an issue?) the car microphone stopped working, so I stopped and shut off my car and restarted it, and it fixed the microphone issue with the phone. I then noticed the backup camera was upside down and the parking assist lines were missing.

I looked up a few fixes online and found one suggestion to disconnect the battery cables for 10 minutes and touch them together to discharge any remaining electricity, actually pretty hard to do since the cables won't reach each other, I used a ratchet to make the jump to each terminal. I then cleaned the terminals and posts, added one of those corrosion pads to each terminal to help prevent corrosion and started the car and put it in reverse, nope didn't help.
So next I saw a video suggesting to unplug the camera, start the car, put it in reverse to let car detect the camera is missing, shut car off, then reconnect camera, start car, put in reverse to detect camera in hopes of resetting it, nope, didn't work for me.
The wiring and terminal on mine is also pristine and has no corrosion or abrasions.

So I started pricing cameras......You would think I was trying to buy the camera that filmed the JFK assasination? My highest quote was $554 in stock at a local Ford dealer for the part. The lowest I found was an aftermarket one for $177 from a master tailgaters? never heard of them but on average I found online Ford dealerships selling them right around $300. So I ordered one and am waiting to get it in by Dec 27-30th.
