Hey all,
so what do you do when you have the MACH system and want to add a sub? Best Buy and Circuit city have not been able to give me a straight answer. Has anyone done it?

Thanks in advance...

people at circuit city and best buy need to wake up. everytime i go in there, they tell me that my MACH is impossible to work with. they couldnt be more wrong. they have there heads stuck so far up there butts that they think our system is just like the mustang's system. WRONG. the fact that we have an RCU actually saves our asses. so, dont listen to those guys. ask around here. ;)

complete waste of time, money, and life...

come here first, then do the work urself or somewhere that specializes in it

 I don't get it. The RCU is one of the biggest PITAs in this car.

To answer your question, you need a line output converter. It has input lines for speaker wire and output lines for RCA cables which you can plug into your amplifier.

Try to get a decent one like an Alpine, but pretty much any line output converter will work, some better than others. I suggest going to a stereo shop to buy one. You may also hear it called a line level adapter. If they don't know what you're talking about, then ask them for "the little box that I plug my speaker wires into and it gives me RCA cables to hook up to an amp." If they don't know what that is, go elsewhere.

When you have it, just splice some new wire into your rear speakers, run that into your line output converter, and then plug the RCA cable in from the converter to your amp, and bingo, your amp will get a signal. If you don't have a lot of experience with installing these, or electronics in general, it may be better to have a shop or someone you know who knows about it do the installation.
