So I have a code saying that my secondary intake runners are stuck open, meaning that they are mostly likely wired open because rather than clean the intake of the crap that builds up they just forced them open. I want to test(if possible) whether the box is bad or not which I assume I can do by just giving the box power with jumper wired is this possible to do? I got a quote from a junk yard for a used on off 97 duratec for $20.

First thing you should do is see if you can move the IMRC butterflies by hand to make sure they aren't physically stuck. Follow the cable from the box to the bellcrank and try turning it by hand (you might have to unhook the cable at one end).

Here's the diagram (page 5): http://www.revbase.com/BBBMotor/Wd/DownloadPdf?id=9191

Red wire is 12V power, grey/red wire is 5V reference, and black/white wire is ground. The blue and brown wires are left, one is probably the IMRC position signal and the other is probably a PWM signal to control the servo motor.

I know the gears or cable mounts inside the IMRC boxes can break, so the box might be the problem.

The butterflies are moving freely, I grabbed the cable with a needle nose and pulled and they move freely, I did also discover that the cable the IMRC box pulls is snapped.

Wouldn't spring tension hold them closed not open though? And thanks for the diagram Behlinla, ill use it to check the boxes at yards.
