I Have A Feeling My Heater Core Is Clogged...

Let the car warm up and turn the heat on high. Feel the two hoses leading into the heater core. Both should be warm. If only the input hose is warm, your heater core is clogged up. Remove the hoses (after the car cools obviously) and flush the heater core out with a garden hose. Flush it from one of the nozzles (or inlets, nipples, or whatever you want to call them) for a few minutes, then do the other, and repeat. If neither hose gets warm I would start look at other sources, such as a bad waterpump.

I did some reading and it seems like the blend door for the temperature selection is electronically controlled. If you switch the selector from cold to hot, or vice versa, you should be able to hear the door moving behind the radio.

Are both heater core hoses getting warm?

And here's something else that I managed to find that I never knew about. It seems there is a TSB out saying to keep the coolant tank all the way full, up to the line that separates the clear part from the black part. It might be worth a shot? :dunno:
