Wife is too small for air bags since shes's pretty much up in the steering wheel (she's 4'11) so I want to make sure they won't deploy, since from the looks of it she'd have no way of surviving it.

I pulled the 10A fuse under the hood that was for the airbags. Now I have a light that blinks a 1 blink 2 blink pattern. It's the only fuse I found thats exclusivley for the airbags.

Will they still deploy as is?

If so, what else to pull/unhook to make sure they don't?

Code 12 means the air bag diagnostic monitor is seeing low or no voltage, caused by you removing the fuse. If you want to get rid of the light and leave the fuse out you need to remove the bulb.

To clear the code and make the air bags work normally you can do what is described in the doc attached.

You can go to the dealer and they can disable the air bags if you want.

Id check your local laws see what the laws are about disabling airbags before you go and do this modification. I see where your coming from though in wanting to disable the air bag or bags for a short person for their safety.

Theres some company out there that is installing key switches to disable and re enable air bags, its not very cheap but its the legal way of doing this. Otherwise, law permitting I reccomend you remove the whole steering wheel and airbag. Then you must have some sort of resistor or kit that will make the airbag light happy.

Do some more researching on it and possibly contact your local BMV or Police to ask them about the legal part!!! Good luck!
