The bigger, the better. It may be overkill, but it won't hurt.

Good that's the main thing that I wanted to know. That I wouldn't hurt anything.


Also can I still use the stock fuse with the 2 gauge wire?

 

The fuses themselves? Definitely stick with the same fuses. Larger cable will definitely help by lowering the resistance, but there should not be more current flowing through.

 

Yeah man I used 1/0 guage wire so 2 is fine... i been running min now for almost 7 months or so. Its well worth the upgrade I dont get dimmed lights or anything anymore. Only problem i had was, The terminal on the wire that i ran from the mega fuse to the altenator came lose of and touched the alt ..... And resulted in me having to buy a new alt. But hey i did get a even better alt while i was upgrading lol.
