Take the belt off and check the idler and tensioner pulleys. They will squeak if the bearing is going bad.

If this is the OHV Vulcan engine, make sure that squeak isn't the camshaft synchronizer going bad. The squeak will come from the center of the engine, not the drive train area.

I was going to change the belt and the belt tensioner as a matter of routine maintenance. There is also some general noise in that area.
I'm not as familiar with this car, (mine is a '97 Neon) as nothing has really gone wrong. Looking on-line for parts, there is a tensioner pulley, and an idler pulley? Wouldn't the tensioner pulley already be part of the tensioner together? I was planning an Motorcraft or Gates parts.

Tensioner unlikely to be an issue. Pulleys may fail.

However, be sure to check A/C pulley for loose or noisy.

Typically, you can either buy the tensioner pulley by itself if the tensioner itself is OK, or you can buy the tensioner and pulley as a unit (much more expensive, of course!).

I have as 2006 with serpentine belt that squeeling all the time , worse when I accelerate. There is no belt adjustment. IT is real tight. What do I do?

I would find a place between 2 pulleys. Pull on the belt and watch the tensioner move. Release the belt. The tensioner should move with no noise and keep the belt tight when released. If this works, you do not need a tensioner.

Remove the belt and check pulleys for looseness, noise or tightness.

I just had this same issue with a '01 Vulcan I recently purchased. I replaced belt and all is fine now. Before I installed the new belt, I spun all of the pulley's to make sure none had worn out bushings or excessive end play. My old belt looked in good shape except for some slight fraying on 1 edge that was about 4" long.

 

i have seen a lot of the bulls around metro detroit lately with the ford mating call. mine has been doin this for 5 months now. i upgraded to the mach radio and i no longer hear any noise the car makes.

Just change the belt
a goodyear gatorback cost me 20 bucks and it took 15 mins to change

after that i didnt get a squeak anymore.....
