Frozen Door Latch Solution

One feature built into the Gen III and Gen IV is a door latch design that tends to stick open in cold weather. When closing the door, it won't latch.

Working the door locks and inside handle a few times can sometimes free up the mechanism and get it to latch at least to get you home.

The longer-term solution is to spray WD-40 into the latch to free up the mechanism, followed by a white lithium grease spray to lubricate it. Work the mechanism several times to distribute the grease.

TCCA member ZZman suggested removing the door panel and spraying the latch mechanisms and rods from inside the door as well for a more permanent fix.
