ok tranny #2 went a 1 1/2 week ago and they thought it was the tourqe converter. well i wound out today the fukin trans needs to be rebuilt. i cant wait to see this bill at the tranny shop hopefully the 3rd one will be better. I was going to trade it in this weekedn but not now got 1 year payments left on the car and a 1 yr warranty oon the 3rd trans so i should have the taurus another year then its up for sale

Did you take it to the same shop that rebuilt it twice?
It does make you wonder though, I worked at a tranny shop for a few years and the parts in a minimal rebuild at that time were about 200 bucks wholesale, cost of most jobs...$1500-1900!!

Anyway thank-god for the warranty!

the waranty is up on this trans i get a new warranty on the rebuild so this i got to pay for. I should have bought the sentra se-r last month instead of lostening to my dad about keeep the car its fine. i told him Fuk you when i found out the trans was done

I'm interested to see how well Wes's tranny holds up. We put a Jasper in his last summer. It costs more, but it comes with a 3 yr / 75K mile warranty and Jaspers are know to be pretty solid trannies anyway. This is on a '98 with like 114K miles.

My dad's 98 was rebuilt at 106k after being with us for 86k miles, the first 20k were spent as a fleet car lo and behold, but the rebuild is still holding out after 14k miles since the rebuild but I think he should get a transmission cooler under her.
