I just checked "rock auto" I can the same one shipped to my home for 27.00!!!!!! the other is going back! That is UNREAL!
Beware of 20% restocking fee! I got charged that by my local stealership after I returned camshaft synchronizer the very next day! And bastards had the nerve to call me to remind me that I'm due for a service. I've told them over my dead body!!!!! So, be smart, check prices upfront and don't give your hard earned to the stealership, unless you have no other choice.

Even $27 is to much for a t-stat. Go to your local parts store, the few cents in gas and the $10-$12 your going to pay for a t-stat is much better than having one delivered to your door for $27....

Well...If I had ANY clue it was that much I would not have got it thereI was expecting 20-30...and The only reason I went to the dealer was because people on HERE said I should...and it was Ted Russel Ford...:) Even with the 20% its cheaper to send it back....oh well...My fault...lesson learned! ;)

I disagree. The POS aftermarket thermostats are no good. I've been through enough of them to know. A brand new 196° thermostat that opens at 160° is unacceptable. The aftermarket thermostats are just junk. I've tried about every brand too. I won't go back, the Motorcraft is worth every penny if it works right. The other stuff, sorry, if it doesn't worth, then it should be free.

I do agree if they dont work they arent worth the time to get them. I have never had trouble with any myself. I usually buy the better of the choices, I stay away from the cheapest ones.

I absolutely concur 100%. I couldn't have said better myself. A lot of people don't understand if they mix too many non-motorcraft parts and the car doesn't run or operate right, the car gets a bad rap or reputation.

In a nutshell you get what you pay for.

The openings on the housing for thermostat on these Fords is not a perfectly circle, which is why the thermostats are not perfectly round...so they fit in the openings and lock into place. Aftermarket ones are perfectly round and will have the wrong temperature raiting too. Glad you found a cheaper one on the Rock!

I agree, motorcraft prob. is the best choice, but ive had good luck with stant stats.
Because thats what it is is, luck. I tried two Stants in my Mazda, both of them were fully open by 160 degrees, even though they were rated to 196. If you get lucky and get one that works, thats great, but I like my cars to work after a repair, not come back with the same problem.
