Until the end of last winter, I had been living in Midwest for three years. Now I live in a snow free country again. Should I take any steps to deal with rust that might have developed when I lived in snow belt?

You probably just have some surface rust on bolts and fasteners, nothing major. I would flush out the underbody very well with a hose, salt and sand deposit in hard to reach areas under the car.

Did you register it out of state? Nice how Texas charges an extra $90 to register it from another state. I'm happy I didn't keep my old car when I moved here.

I would get under the car and check out how bad it is. I would then get the car undercoated by say ziebart or yourself. Though, it isnt to bad then I would just treat teh surface rust with some rust fix paint etc. and be done with it.
