Ok I just bought a 2001 Taurus with 98,000 miles on it. Everycouple days when I turn the key it won't start, the light's on the dash are on but it doesn't turn over, if I open the hood and shake the main fuse block under the hood it starts right up? I have checked the fuses and the look ok so I am not sure what the problem could be.

My Second problem is when I fill the tank the gauge only goes to about 3/4 of a tank and I now have about 220 miles on the current fill up but it says it's almost empty which I doubt I am sure I have atleast another 50-60 miles on this tank...is this related to the fuse block issue?

The radio does cut out sometimes until I put it in drive which I am sure could be the Neutral Safety switch but it does get affected by the fuse block issue.

Any help would be appreciated besides that I love this car.

Pull starter relay from the underhood fuse box and look for corroded terminals.

Check battery terminals for crud and clean them if they need it.
