Look for a clip or a catch that you need to push to release it. I have done it a few times and never committed to memory exactly how it is done.

2004 Taurus resister for blower turns red at low speeds then stops and only works at speed

Thx it worked but now the new one (2 new ones) worked at low speed for a couple minutes-it turned red-then stopped and works only on high speed How can l check for a short? T

Lour blower motor is bad, drawing too much current.

Thx So it’s not a wire, that Is in the wire harness, that has shorted out ?

That is, one of the wires that in the Wire harness that has shorted ?

As Mike (Chartmaker) stated, the blower motor is bad. Likely bad bearings (high friction) causing it to draw WAY too much current. Replace it. Replacing the blower motor is an hour job at the most, and new motors can be had for around $30 on Rock Auto.

You can also pull a motor and resistor part from LKQ if the connector to the resistor has been damaged and or wires damaged.
