I'm disassembling my '99 Sable to repair a suspected head gasket leak. I have the upper intake off but am stumped for how to get the huge wire harness out of the way. It's cased in plastic molding and the injector leads come out of it. The way it is routed, I can't see how it comes out. Do I unsnap the plastic molding and seperate the wiring?

If I remember correctly it just drapes over the engine. If you disconnect everything except for the harnesses connected on the driver's side of the vehicle, you should be able to pull all of those wires over and flop them somewhere to get them out of the way.

I had to change out that big stack of wires a couple times during a motor swap. It shouldn't be too bad to get out of the way. Use masking tape and a sharpie to label wires if you're afraid you won't remember where they go.

The heads are going to be the easy part! These hoses and wires are a killer.
Makes working on my old Bronco a piece of cake.
