I have a 92 Taurus GL Wagon 3.8L.
My wipers will not work every time I turn them on. When they do not work, I can hear a clicking noise near the dash/steering column. Sometimes I can turn them on and after about 5 seconds they will start to work. When they do work, when I turn them off they are supposed to go down to a position low on the windshield but they do not go all the way down. If I touch the wiper motor, it is extremely hot. When I use the windshield cleaner combination, the wiper fluid comes out but the wiper do not move.
This problem started about 6 months ago. It did it for a day or so and then they worked regularly for 6 months. I thought they were fixed after I cleaned the connections and then this problem starts again.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
