I have a 2010 taurus. When I push down on the throttle, gas smelling white smoke comes from the exhaust and after a few seconds the rpms start to jump between 50 and 150.
There's no crack or leaking gasket that I can see and my dad says it might be the injectors.
Any ideas??

Head gasket leak?

Pull the oil dipstick and see if it looks like oil or a chocolate milkshake on the end of the stick.

The injectors could explain RPM fluctuations but not excessive (in winter condensation has similar but short-lived symptom) white smoke. In general terms copious white smoke usually spells coolant intrusion, so head gasket or water pump. Neither is very good news.

Sounds like a vert typical water pump failure. You can look on the forum as there are tons of information about the issue. Get ready for an expensive repair. I would hope you might have an extended warranty. It is just $1400 to replace the water pump not including any damage it has done.
