Anyone ever have a whining noise when the air conditioning is on? It sounds almost like a power steering whine, but it only happens when the A/C is on and only as the A/C cycles.
It also changes pitch as the transmission shifts. A/C works fine. It probably cycles a little more frequently than I'm used to (maybe every 15 to 20 seconds I think??).. I'll time it and see. I'll also try to get audio samples soon...
Only thing else is just how much the A/C negatively affects the performance of the car, especially in acceleration..sloowwweer...

My '03 Taurus DOHC does that. Bought last year and after year and 3 months no change in the sound. A/C works fine. Since the compressor looks really new, it must have been replaced.
