when my car shifts at high rpms under full throttle i get a whining noise. Has anyone else had this problem. this guy i know said it might be my power steering pump.

uaually power steering pump will whine all the time. check the fluid level though.

if it was me, i'd check the vacuum system. that explains the whine and high rpm's. perhaps an old/bad line.

that's where i'd start. check the power steering pump though, if its low on fluid it'll whine.

good luck.

It might be normal. My vulcan gets a whine at high RPMs, kinda like a pseudo-rotary. ;)
I've just had everything examined on the engine, and other than a bum O2 sensor, there's nothing remotely wrong with my car or engine. I personally think it sounds kinda badass. B)
