I've got a 1993 Taurus GL. So which engine do I have, its a 3.0 but is it: OHV or Yamaha??

im running a 95 gl.....with a vulcan...so ure probably running a vulcan to.

Yes, that would be the OHV Vulcan.

The 3.0 24v Duratec wasn't introduced til 1995 or the 96' car year. That leaves you DEFINITELY driving the 3.0 Vulcan.

sometimes it's hard to tell - not everyone is familiar with the engines, etc. on our cars.

On Gen2s it's extremely easy t tell the engines apart since there were two engines available and they have the displacment stamped on the intake manifold (on the Essex) or on the valve cover (on the Vulcan).

DUH! Did you read my post????? The Duratec was introduced to the Taurus in the year 1995.
The 1996 model year starts in late 1995! That means Gen3's (and Duratecs) were introduced in 1995!
