My 2007 is crunch, crunch crunching. I think it is the right one. Are there 2 on each side - top and bottom? From reading posts in this forum I know better than to try the job myself :) Should they both be replaced? Should I have left and right replaced also, or just wait until the left one goes? I think the right one has endured more torture because here in North Dakota, it is easier to miss the potholes on the drivers side than on the passengers side. Finally, what is the best brand?

With a relative few exceptions, a good rule of thumb is: If they come as a set you should replace all at once, if they come individually you can just replace the one. Also, before buying components you should check and make sure you're ordering the right part. Might be the spring, might be a loose lugnut. Easily enough checked, jack up that corner and grab the wheel - There should be no noticeable free play when you try and move it..

And, no there's only one ball joint, at the bottom.

Thank you! You have a nice weay with words. Is Moog a good brand for this part?

Moog has gone significantly downhill. Motorcraft is all I use at this time. Not side specific. Will require a press. If you’re getting crunchiness, be sure to check your strut mounts too. I had one go bad and got a crunchiness when turning.
