I have a Gen 2 wagon

Want to get the 12 disc changer for my alpine head unit....can get one for $250......still debating spending the cash.....

Since i have a wagon, it has a column shifter, and the dash does not connect to a center console, since there is no center console.

I wish i had a picture to post, but i dont right now......i'm thinking of mounting it to the floor under where the ashtray is, in the middle of the two foot wells.

Is it safe to mount it there? Whats the best way to mount it? I know if it was in th a trunk, i could safely use sheet metal screws, but i'm assuming there is plenty that can go wrong mounting the changer there with screws. I was thinking in WORST case scenario, i'd mount the chager to a sheet of plywood, and get some HEAVY DUTY velro and see how that holds against the carpet. I've velcroed carpet to equipment before in order to hide the old radio in my cousin's civic, which is also used as the keyless entry (dumb a** engineers at honda!)

it held quite well, but i'm not sure if it will be secure enough to support a CD player through vibrations and the such

any help is greatly appreciated
thanks

I would say mount it under the passenger seat. I don't think there's enough room under the ashtray to mount a CD changer. Plus if it's under the passenger seat, no one can see it so it lowers your chances of it getting stolen and if you get into an accident, it won't fly around.

There's nothing under teh passenger seat. The A/C vents don't take up that much room since they run in the middle of both seats. I think carpet screws would probably hold it down.

picked up the changer last night
264 including tax....not the best price i found, but not bad either....especially since it is from an authorized dealer.

I'll fool around this weekend and see where the best place to mount it is....i'm hoping with the mounting brakets on that it isnt too high to place under the seat....as far as i can tell it should be fine.....

will keep posting

got the changer in.....had to mount is in the "trunk" under the rear facing seat (in a wagon)......wanted to do it upfront, but 12 discs is thick.....happy with what i did, i'll post pics tomorrow....

ended up rewiring my amp and subwoofer while i was at it, and vacuuming the whole car..... good amount of work, cause the interior was dirrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrty......time to go reward myself by grilling, drinking and then more drinking in the city....

beautiful weekend up here in north jersey......

more in my next
