Hey folks,

I got a set of the mesh (BBS style) 15" wheels from a friend for free from a 2nd Gen Taurus/Sable.

Will these clear the 4-wheel disc (w/ abs) on my car? These would become winter wheels.

Also, would 225/60R15's be too wide for the back? I already have a set of snows from my old Mustang in that size.

Thanks for any info,

Ryan

As long as your brakes are stock size (not upgraded to SHO size) then the 15's will work fine. The larger SHO front rotors require 16's.

225/60-15 is not too wide for the car, but it may be too wide for the rim. I'm assuming the rims are 15x6. 225 is wide for a 6" rim, but should work. The tire will buldge around the lip of the rim. This would cause less traction in the center of the tread, and with such a tall sidewall, it may not handle well on the asphalt.

I don't know anything about driving in the snow (Texas!), so I can't tell you if the 225 tire on the 6" rim would help or hurt traction in snow.
