This Taurus SE is in great condition with 107k miles. Needs new tires in the next 10,000 miles. Has some minor paint scratches on the body, but it has been meticulously maintained.

Most of the miles are from 20 mile trips or long 1000 mile trips. Everything works great. If i didn't have the truck, i would keep it.

$1500.

But only if it was a local California car. I traded a 2000 LX in 2003 for $5000 and a 2004 LX in 07 for about the same. Both had under 40,000 miles.

I was offered $3500 trade-in on my 113,000 mile 07 Fusion a week ago. What an insult. They would have turned around and sold it for double or triple that.

I wouldn't pay more the $2,000, and the car has to be in great shape. It's been owned in the rust belt, which hurts resale more. Mine has 117k, and is a '07, is only worth around $5k private party (even though it's a Texas car). Comes with owning a mass produced universal rent-a-car. I'm happy I bought it used, and not new, so I didn't lose out as much $. $5-6k depreciation in 3 years and 92k miles, not bad! Once you have the price set on a new car, haggle the trade in value! Don't hesitate to do the 180, lol.
