Hey guys,

I have gotten this weird code awhile ago last month then it went away. Now tonight it came back and I tried to search for the code online but i cant find it. I swear im getting the code 45 error. What error is this? Is one of the airbag sensors acting up?

Thank you. The error is primary crash sensor #2 not mounted right. How should I start to trouble shoot this problem? Where is the sensor I need to look at?
I believe that is the driver side impact sensor mounted to the radiator support front-end body metal. If you look through the grill you can see the passenger side one, to get an idea of what they look like/how they mount. It's about a 1.5" square little metal cube like device. If they rust off or otherwise come loose, you get a code 44 or 45, as their electrical ground is lost.

Googling around, I found this alternative description: DTC 45: LH RADIATOR CRASH SENSOR NOT MOUNTED TO VEHICLE PROPERLY
Thank ya guys. I will double check the condition of the sensor. I bet it may even be some dirt in between the sensor and mounting spot. When i had the transmission rebuilt maybe he got some dirt around there or something. Or maybe the bottom part of the sensor could have some rust on it?

Thanks guys! I took off the sensor and found it almost rusted on and covered in dirt. It must have been a bad ground through that part of the sensor. Cleaned it up and reconnected it and the light has gone away.

Thank you just wanted to post this just in case some one else gets the error 45 and doesn't know what to try first.

Glad it`s fixed. Was wondering though if anyone has the codes for 2000 and up.I keep getting 46.I was told it`s because of the sensor under the driver`s seat.Is that right.Sorry for jacking the thread too.The airbag wont pop in my face will it.Sorry using a french keyboard and don`t know the codes for punctuation. So just imagine there`s question marks where they should be.Thanks guys it`s appreciated.

No, the airbags wont pop randomly, but the entire system is disabled if the RCS module detects a fault in the system.
