I have recently been having trouble with my 91 ford taurus with a V-6 3.0L with an automatic transmision. I have been getting error code 118 also sometimes it will give code 116, I have changed the coolant temp sensor 3 times already. Also sometimes when the car is running it will stahl, or if you put it into reverse or drive it acts like it is putting a lot of load on the engine. Every once in a while when I start the car it runs rough, then after a few min it will smooth out and run normal. Does anyone have any ideas as to what may be causing this? I am thinking it may be the (forgive me if the name is wrong) constant control relay by the radiator. In case it is the wrong name I am talking about the black box ontop of the radiator that has about 25 wires going into it.

Ok, well I checked the maf and the car is still giving me the problems, also the maf I have on is maybe a month old. As for the air temp sensor is that the one near the egr sensor on the intake? If so the guy I bought it from just had it replaced. This problem is driving me crazy

As if I wasn't crazy enough already.

Bad wiring for the ECT?[/b]
Well I haven't had the chance to check the wiring yet, but I will as soon as I get a good dry day.
