Ok, my car has just started doing this a few days ago. I'm not sure what it is. After driving my car (not sure how long matters), I put it in park and almost instantly the car starts to idle anywhere between 2000 and about 2700 RPM's. I have absolutly no idea why its doing this. Can anyone clue me in on whats wrong with my car? Thanks!

well, does it do it all the time? the usual suspects are idle air control valve and possibly throttle position sensor - though if it was the TPS it'd do it all the time, and you'd be barking your tires everytime you went into D.

could be funny gas, maybe. someone here will know more about it than i.

good luck.

i just had this fixed on my car, turned out to be old sparkplugs and some bad gaskets, cost for fix including labor was $135. also you might want to start adding fuel injector cleaner to your car on a regular basis to help prevent this in the future.
