My daughter has a 2001 Ford Taurus SE, when forst started and taking off the transmission will not shift to any other gear, and the speedometer does not work, if going down hill the speed picks up and the car seems to go into a false neutral,

once the doers auto lock, the speedom starts working and the car shifts.

we have tried to manually lock the doors but that doesn’t work, the car doors has to auto lock.

Has anyone ever seen this happen? First for me and hoping it’s not a ecu issue.

Respectfully suggest editing your initial post and going through it for typos (like getting sensored for misspelling “shift” etc.) I’d love to help, but couldn’t follow the story you’re trying to lay down.

Hi, you may have a bad VSS speed sensor, it mounts to the passenger side of the transmission.
This will cause high rpm's in first gear, then WHAM hard shift into second gear.
Almost never throws a error code. Easy to replace. Should look like this stock image.
