ok i've been having a problem with the trunk lid staying up for a while now. i've tried adjusting it and still nothing. and i've also had a leak in the trunk were water was getting in. and today i just walked by the rear of my car and saw that there was a little gap between the spoiler and the trunk lid. well i took off the spoiler and come to fine out the factory seal had shrunk and there is a good bit of water in the spoiler. so i think i have found the culprit of all the problems that deal with the trunk area. i'm going to drain the spoiler and use some rtv to seal it up to make sure it don't leak into the trunk again.

Certainly the added weight from the water in the spoiler probably kept the trunk lid from staying open, but when I added a factory spoiler to my car, it also came w/ a heavier duty spring which to account for the added weight of the spoiler.
