Wanting to install Dash Cam with parking mode enabled.

Hi all,

I have a 2016 Ford Taurus Limited. I am trying to install a dash cam (70mai Dash Cam Omni) to my vehicle to always be on, that way I have parking mode enabled, and it's always able to record. This company wants you to hardwire it to the fuse box, however it appears to be impossible. I purchased the hardwire kit, and a fuse tap for low profile mini att fuses. However, it does not appear to fit due to the way the passenger side fuse box is. I am running out of idea's on what to do... Right now, I just have it plugged into the car charger, however it doesn't turn on and off with the car nor enables parking mode. Any idea's would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

I forget now which fuse I used but it definitely fits, because that's how I got my dash cam wired to shut off with the car not running. Yes access is extremely painful, requiring contortionist-like moves, but doable (though you won't be able to put the fuse box cover back on anymore). I'll check exactly which fuse number I tapped into in a few days when I can get back to my car, but visually it is towards the middle.

I’m not gonna lie, I wasn’t expecting a response. Glad to see this forum not dead yet. Did you wire to the driver side fuse box or under the hood fuse box? I know under the hood is doable. I was trying to keep it inside though, as I’m not sure how I would wire it outside under the hood, where I could route the cables to?
Tapping into existing circuits is also an option.

Driver-side inside.
There you go. Fuse #33, 10A (last one before the relay). In the manual it is marked as "Not Used/Spare".
