Is the vulcan (gen 3) also referred to as an single over head cam (sohc) motor?
also call as OHV? So there is one cam shaft.

AFAIK, it's only referred to as the 3.0L OHV. If it's listed as otherwise...perhaps whoever has it listed is clueless?

OHV - over head valve.

It is a typical pushrod engine. There is one cam just above the crank that pushes the lifters into the pushrods that rotate rockers that push the vlaves open.


A SOHC engine has the cam directly above the valvetrain.
