One nice deal one "whatever".

The "whatever" car has a formal roof. Very few here would drive one. I might but lets here it for others interested. I am old enough to drive one.
The '02 has 36K Miles. That makes a keeper in my book.

Likely the reason it ~$1K below what it would bring without that. I'm the "geezer" at 79. Just last year old enough to own a Buick Lucerne. Soft, quiet, column shift, lots of power. I've used the heated steering wheel all winter. Not old enough for a formal roof though.

^+2. i'm 63 and would drive that Sable anytime, if and when my wagon ever quits. Thing is, I love that car too much and it just won't die - thank the Lord!

I actually now get offers at the Publix parking lot if I'm ever
interested in selling it. :)

Holy moly! There are actually people that are older than me. It’s usually not the case. I will be 53 in March. I drive that Sable

right to the body shop to rip that landau roof off.

Sent from some little thing I hear voices from.

2x on the roof ripoff. The other roof that bugs me is the ''simulated convertible'' S Florida roof....

If y'all could get it for $2300-2400, it'd be worth it for the rear bumper alone! I'm looking for another, only five years after scoring one with help from BullGeek and the Major. THAT search took more than four years! The bumpers gassed out by around 2000, and the least little tap would fracture them...and they've been out of production for years. (There aren't enough Gen1 wagons built and still on the road to warrant making aftermarket repros since. :( )

A Gen2, while similar in appearance, will NOT work. (I tried one.)

I'm looking because some douchebag at the local Winn-Dixie just HAD to back up without looking, and christened my new old bumper - which I spent ten days priming, masking, and painting so perfectly! - after only five months on the car. I epoxied the cracks, and so far the cracks haven't spread...but it looks like hell. I'm planning a one-month stay at a decent local body shop to have some rust spots tended to, the rocker panels repaired, and a full re-paint done right so's the car will be presentable another 20 years or so. Who knows, maybe they can epoxy the bumper from beneath as well, sand it smooth and the re-paint will mask the cosmetic flaws. I know, it's a $2800 job - but a new vehicle half the size costs ten times as much now, and isn't the workhorse that Old Faithful has been since 1997. I just need to see if I can talk FoMoCo into doing the work for marketing purposes! :D

That third seat is an easy convert to a Gen1 not already so equipped. $3000 is optimistic...I betcha the owner saw a peach a month before being ripe, did some easy fixes and bought it for like $800 and wants to make a quick kill. If it wasn't overpriced as well as being 3400 road miles from me, I'd consider making an offer.

Nice car, though! Wonder what the mileage is...

If the car was $2,000 I'd consider getting it and I'd repaint it in Medium Canyon Red. I'd also add the keypad on the door, the electronic climate control and digital cluster. This car is fairly close to me. I live in Spokane in eastern Washington and this car is in Portland Oregon. I wish I had enough money in the bank for it. I just came out of college barely 3 months ago so I don't have much money in the bank. By the time I would this car might be long sold and I don't know the next time another 86 LX Wagon would appear for sale.

Make an offer! It's only 500 miles away, give or take, and the worst the guy could say is "no."

The only problem right now is I won't be able to get this car until June. I hope that I can convince him to hold onto it for a while until I can get it. It would be a shame if this nice LX Wagon ended up in the hands of some fool who would only trash it.

This looks like a steal, but they go pretty cheap in this area. A 96 Taurus sedan with less than 104K miles. Looks decently clean for it's age, especially for under $900.
