My 1997 taurus has the ugly hub caps over cheapo steel wheels. I was thinking that while I got tires I would get some new rims.

On ebay 00-04 rims are selling with tires for a good deal. Will those fit my 97 GL?

Taurii wheels are interchangable, unless your car originally had 16" wheels, in which case you'll need a min. of 16" to clear the brakes.

Also try Volvo, Mercury, some Mazda etc. 5 x 108 with a 38 to 42mm offset. Widest tires you can go to are about 235 - 245.

The 235-245 will touch the front fenderwell and the rear plastic thing. I had 235 in my Sable and I had to buy new tires because it will make your tire uneven and your alignment will have to be changed for a few times. When I made wide turns the wheel used to touch the fender well and it f**** up my car so I had to change the inner tie rod ends. If you want tires just get the stock size so you won't have any problem. Good luck.
