I was in the salvage yard yesterday because I needed a part, and I came accross a trunk lid that has the rear spoiler. It's even the right color. Our car is a 99, and I don't remember the year of the car the truck lid was on. I know it was older then a 99, but it did look the same. I didn't look it over very well, because that's not what I was there for, and I needed to get back home, so I was focused on my project. I know the reverse lights were gone, but I figure I can use the one's from the trunk lid we have. If it will fit, and I can get it for a good price, I might go get it. What would a trunk lid like that be worth? What years will fit a 99? Any help is appreciated. Thanks

96-99 Taurus should fit, including the 96-99 SHO model. :)

Thanks, I'm going down there as soon as I'm done typing this post. They told me 37 bucks for the truck lid, so I'm going to go look at it better. It's missing the reverse lights, but I can take them off of another Taurus while I'm back there. I figure I could even sell it if it doesn't work. 37 bucks sounds good to me, and it's even the right color. I will let everyone know. Thanks

I just got home, so I took a couple of pics to show everyone the trunk lid. When I was there yesterday, I happened to see this trunk lid with the spoiler. I took a real quick look at it, didn't really examine it, and I forgot what year it was on. I called them this morning, and talked to the same guy I delt with yesterday. I told him about the truck lid, and explained that it had a spoiler, but the light cluster was missing. He told me $37.00 for the trunk lid with the spoiler. I got there, and went back, and found it. It was on a 98 Taurus SE. I pulled the trunk lid off, and then I went and found a nice 99 with the whole light cluster. So I took the light cluster off of the 99, and installed it on the truck lid, lock and all. So I go to pay for it, and the guy says $189.00, and that it's three pieces. He siad it's a truck lid, spoiler, and light cluster. (when I called I told them the light cluster was missing) I said the guy told me $37.00. I gave him the guy's name, but he had allready left. So we went back and forth, and I told them if I didn't get it for $37.00, that I didn't want it. So, after tax, and core deposit (whatever that is), I paid $36.28. There was also a $2.00 fee just to go back and look. Not bad if I do say so myself. What do you all think. Here are a few pics. The last pic is the car it's going to go on.

The receipts I receive from the Charleston, SC LKQ Self Serve say the Tampa LKQ address and phone number for some reason...and you are from Tampa, just putting 2 and 2 together...

I'm not actually from Tampa. I put near Tampa next to my name because if I put New Port Richey (which is where I live) people wouldn't know where it is. I'm actually 30 minutes North of Clearwater straight up US19. My house is less them 2 miles from the Gulf of Mexico as a crow flies. The salvage yard was the LKQ in Clearwater. They have several salvage yards. They used to be called Copher Brothers (may have misspelled the name). I was pissed when they tried to get more out of me. I would of left the trunk lid right there and walked out. I think they thought they could get me to pay more then they told me because they figure I just put all the effort into it. I wasn't buying it because I needed it, I was buying it as a mod. Should look good when I get it installed. I might go back and look for some rims. Thanks
