Ok, when I was heading off to work today, I was accelerating and hit about 4,000 RPM's and the tach quickly jumped down to about 2,500-3,000 RPM's and then there was kind of a clank and that was it. After that it seemed to do just fine. Could this be a problem or a sign of something to come?

How bad of a clunk is it? I've had the motor in our van upto 5.5K in 3rd and when it shifts, there's some sort of a clunk, but it's not very loud.

The thing is it only happened that once. Never did it before and hasn't done it since. It didn't sound like it was that bad. I usually have the rear windows down and this is the first time I noticed it and it wasn't that loud, but loud enough to be noticed. What do you think?

Do you have the AX4N transmission? Cause if you do, I had the exact same thing which did eventually happen again and led to this.

I'd hope for your sake that its nothing like that since its a particularly unpleasant experience.
