If my 1996 taurus duratec transmission ever needs rebuilding has ford brought out any modifications that i need to be aware of other than the clutch pistons and plates your help would be most appreciated Eddy Bryant Western Australia

I love the "if" you use to begin your post. I have a 96 Duratec with AX4N with 266K on it an am on my 4th tranny!!

THere are sevreal TSBs out there that a reputabel shop show know and takek care of in a rebuild

You mean your duratech has 266k on it!

If you're replacing/rebuilding the tranny every 90k miles, you might want to check your driving habits!! Then again mine was rebuilt at 42... but I bought it at 38 so not my fault!!!
