Transmission Trouble?

Hello,
Over the last couple of weeks, my RPM gauge will drop down and my whole car will like I'm hitting the brakes, while I'm driving, it does this for about a half of a second. It does this through out my driving, mainly when my engine warms up. I talked to a friend at work who owns 3 Taurus's. He told me that the symtoms sound like a vacuum problem in the tranny. He also told me that he has had the same problem. Has anyone else had a similar problem? I have a 96 Taurus, 3.0 GL, I believe my Tranny is the Ax4N. Thanks

I'm Really bummed you haven't gotten any help. I'm having the same problem with my 92. VERY un-nerving! I'm expecting the whole drivetrain to rip loose next time. My mech buddy told me TPS or vacuum leak. Not the TPS. Will let you know if I find anything this morning.

No luck with vacuum lines. Trying VSS now
