Thanks Julian,We now think this could be a brake related problem as we have been going easy on the brakes all week,no hard braking and we have since not had any transmission problems at all.
Ive heard of a boss switch(i think its called) on the brake pedal, could this be somehow related to the transmission problems?
Sean
My car used to do the same thing, it would go netural momentarily, then it would pop into gear. Eventually, it took longer and longer to go back into gear. At times I would have to rev the engine to 2.5 - 3k rpm for it to get back into gear. That of course made for a mad neutral drop
Eventually it would just come out of gear when you come to a stop and stay there. After 5 occurances of the neutral drops, I decided to take the trans in for rebuilding. It shifted fine most of the time. [/b]
How much did the transmission rebuild cost???

I am on my second tranny, the first went out at 34K and was covered under warranty. Now it is at 72K and the check engine light is popping on and it's doing some light neutral drops, but only when I am starting from a stand still... I'm sure Ford won't cover it under warranty again (I could be wrong), but how much am I looking at???
