Just acquired 2005 Ford Taurus SE with only 50000 miles for 2k. Sure enough it appears to have some tranny slippage. Any ideas out there on how to fix this on a budget?

^+1. A slipping 1-2 shift when warmed up is a common symptom of a faulty oss sensor (tranny output sensor). It can be, but not always, be accompanied with a malfunctioning speedo. How's the atf level/condition? It needs to be checked when warm and idling in Park.

The fluid level/condition is good. I will change the sensor and see what happens. Thank you
