Another
question, but important nonetheless!

Ok, I went to a site one of you recommended, forget who, and they had transmission coolers. I looked at the type of cooler I should get, and it's not on there... the site is here.

If one on there is good, or any others for a 1992 Taurus GL please sites and links would help.

Thanks.

Ah, good good. I trust this is all stuff that a Haynes manual can help walk me through? I have a mechanic buddy otherwise, but if it's easy Idon't want to bug him.

Its easy. The toughest part really is just mounting it. It should come with a hose and hoseclamps. Unhook from the out line on the stock cooler and attach to the in on the new cooler. Hook the old out line to the out on the tranny cooler and maybe add a little fluid and your done. Mine went easier since I had it up at the ford dealership where my brother in law works so it was up on a lift.

There are two OEM coolers. The ATX one has the smaller diameter tube.

Will that same item work for a Gen 3?

tranny coolers are universal. They could work on even my windstar. As long as you can mount it and have the right hoses thats all that should matter.
