I am thinking of doing transmission fluid flush. I might be able to borrow a torque wrench. Does anyone know what's a good setting to use? If I don't end up using a torque wrench, just how careful/aggressive should I be?

I just did this today. I used a 3/8 drive and tightened them a little more than hand tight. If I had a nut driver I would have done it that way. I also changed the rubber gasket with a new rubber gasket.

I did every other bolt and went around about 4 or 5 times doing that until I was happy they where all the same.

I just drove it about 30 miles and all was fine no leaks.

I still recommend a nut driver if you have one for them. That way you know you will not over tighten them.

Just did mine

1/4 inch drive on 8mm bolts. Snug every other one until the wrench stops. you'll know.. Then snug the rest. then go all around to make sure you didn't miss one. Either 17 or 19 depending on trans.

^+2. I use a 3/8in. dr. ratchet to remove and 1/4in. dr. ratchet to install. Torque value on tranny pan bolts is 106 in.-lbs.
