When checking my moms 06 over for inspection yesterday my dad found the right outer cv boot torn (half way around the top) and leaking a bit of grease on the LCA. It's not too bad yet and we figure we can just replace the boot.

My question is have others here replaced a lot of cv boots on these cars, especially this early? My dad and I think this is very early. Fortunately it isn't a very expensive repair.

Anything is possible. Maybe you hit something and it tore a hole in it, who knows!

Don't wait too long though, the grease will come out fairly quick. Easiest thing to do is just replace the boot. RockAuto sells them for as cheap as $6.89.
