I test drove a 2011 Limited with 10,000 miles on it (dealer demo for sale). It had the nineteen inch wheels and the Goodyear Eagle 45 profile tires. The car was quiet, but there was tire tread noise on smooth pavement above 40 MPH. No way of knowing if tires had been rotated in that 10,000 miles, but pressure was at 32 PSI cold.
Is this normal? Does tire rotation improve this?
Tirerack.com user reviews indicate this Goodyear tire has noise issues. Would Ford stick noisy tires on such a quiet and luxurious vehicle?

Some tires are just noisy. Some road surfaces are noisy too. There are stretches if I-15 in Nevada and Utah that just scream when you are driving on them.

Ditto..........
Depends a lot on the road. In the area where I live, some roads, although looking smooth, are noisy while others that look just as smooth, are quiet. Depends on the materials used in the road.
