Its time to give up on the Taurus. So I've decided to get an Impreza. Maybe a 2.5 RS or a WRX, I have not yet decided. I just can’t get the speed in the bull that I can get with the Impreza. Now that I have my loan app approved it will be a matter of week before I can get into my new five speed turbo equipped car. It was fun while it lasted and I hate to leave ford but until the build better vehicles I will have to choose the more exotic cars. Thanks for all you help over the year and I wish you all the best luck on moding your cars.

I have a love for taurus's but theres just something about an imprezza that makes me love it...but!...my personal choice would be a lancer evo 8....i dont know what it is about them either...the bad a** front mount intercooler...the turbo...interior...the carbon fiber wing...ahh yes thats going to be my next car...but by the time i can afford one of those including payments and insurance, it'd probally be an evo 30..lol

I think everyone's choice after the Taurus should be a japanese car, regardless which one, but to tell the truth an Impreza WRX would be a cool choice

We're Taurus owners not Taurus Nazis like someone else stated on a diffrent thread...

I also know when the time comes to throw in the towel and sell my Taurus, I will be getting a japanese car (the sad reality of things)...But that probably won't happen until 2-3 years
so I will enjoy life with my Bull now as much as I can.

Good luck.

Trust me I looked at the Evo VIII but coupling a $700 a month payment with 4x as high insurance is not the car that I want (or can afford). And speaking of insurance it will only be slightly higher than the Taurus with the 2.5 RS. The WRX will definitely put a dent in my fun. I’m thinking about a highly modded 2.5 RS anyways. That way insurance will think I'm getting a slow base model Impreza. The best part about this car though is that I retain the uniqueness. Everyone around knew me as the guy that raced his Taurus and that was really cool and unique. Now I will have a car that no one in my neighborhood has. I will love the opportunity of keeping the uniqueness that the bull gave me.

Best of luck to you!

Once last ditch effort to keep you with Ford...
Have you considered a Mazda Mazda6 or an RX-8?? They are very nice... and fast... and exotic... just something to consider.

When I was your age I paid close to 2 grand a year on a 91 t-bird, and that was full coverage. At the time the bird was 9 years old. I pay about 2100 a year now on my 00 taurus, and I am a step 9 driver with no moving violations, and I am a 21 year old male. I can only imagine the insurance costs to fully insure an impreza wrx for a 19 year old. youre looking at around 3 grand easy. I dunno man, I am just telling it like it is. Do what you want, but trust me it sucks to pay for insurance when half the time it serves no viable purpose. its not something you can hold in your hand and appreciate, its a check for a couple hundred bucks you write a month (or however you pay your insurance).

Personally, I would stick with the beaters now. When youre older you can appreciate the nicer wheels, not to mention be able to realistically afford a really nice car. Insurance rates drop a good amount when you turn 25, at least in mass.

Thats why as much as i like my bull, I think I am gonna get a crappy winter beater and put the minimum (like 500 bucks a year) insurance on it. Save me cash as well as mileage on my taurus.

I am kinda rambling, its 2:30am and I have been studying finance for the past 4 hours. I just needed to get my .02 in.

The insuruance industry is starting to go back to the way things used to be back in the late 60' and 70's.

Example, if you were 18 got moms 1970 Chevy Nova 350 4 door, your rates were resonable. On the other hand if you got a 1969 426 (4bblx2) Hem-Cuda.... Well... I think you get the idea.

There are so many ricers out there today that the insurance industry is starting to realize something, they are not crash worthy worth a s**t, and younger and younger drivers are getting there hnads on some old honda, putting some NOS or a turbo on it for cheap, doing 140mph and killing themselves, somebody else, or causing extensive damage.

Lets face it, a civic or eclipse just is not going to survive a crash like a old 1970 Oldsmobile 442 or 1970 Buick GS 455 Stage 1 will.

My 2 cents on that issue.

The WRX is an incredible car. It has the qualities of a Porshe and its not that expensive considering what all you get. But next car I get or drive when I wreck, sell or it gets stolen, I will be building a Shelby GT 500, yes the car that does not exist techacally. I found a complete kit for a 1970 Mach 1 that you completely redo the entire car into the beatiful car you saw in Gone In Sixty Seconds. The kit is only 3 grand plus the 5 you pay for the Mach 1 and boom you got yourself the ultimate chick magnet.

im sorry i just have to bust somebodies chops about the Mach1. there is no way u can get a kit that will trun a stang into a eleanor. and to really but your chops it a 67 mustang gt 500... i.e. shelby gt 500. not a 70. a 70 is the 2nd gen mustang. and ugly as sin. unless you looking at the very first orginal eleanor of the 1970's. which is a 73.

but if there is a kit for a eleanor plz give me the site i would like to see how cheap it really is.

and whats wrong with 3200 a year full coverage. and whats wrong with eropean cars. i pay 3200 for amy S4 and im 19... i turned it into "My Eleanor". Its got everything lux. on it. sunroof heated seats 6 spd which a wrx does not, audi's awd. and at this time a nice 300whp.
