I have a plain 2001 Taurus with no heat. I read about the clinton flush, but would like to start replacing the thermostat first, upon checking on e-bay i see numerous part numbers for taurus thermostat's from $5.00 up to $45.00. I don't necessarily want the cheapest, but the right one, how do I find out what part numebr I need.

Thanks

To the OP, does your car come to opperating temp but still get no heat? You may have a clogged Heater core (Common issue due to lack of maintenance) try flusing everything out Heater core, block and Radiator all seprate. Hopefully that fixes the issue, if not your looking at a heater core replacement.

Do you get temperature control? can you make it warmer (Ambiant temp to cold) with the A/C on?

Troy.

Correct. There is no point of replacing the thermostat if the engine temperature gauge reads corectly...
