I am going to flush, replace the stat and some hoses and refill. I found the stat housing, and it looks like two bolts. How do these bolts usually hold up? Will they come out easily? I read that the vulcan's often break. They do not look rusted, as they are coverd by the bottom rock guard/ valence. Is that stat reached by removing the bottom bolts or do you remove the top bolts another coolant pipe is? Thanks

You just remove the two bolts from the underside of the housing. Mine didn't break when i changed my stat a few weeks ago. You should be fine. They aren't torqued very tightly.

Be sure not to get gasket or anything in your system when you remove the thermostat. Take some extra caution, just saying.
