Okay... considering that I'm in a mostly stock GL, I have a question... what's the worst speeding ticket you drove away from?

I have 2 qualifiers... my ticket from last night, at least 100kmh in a 50knh strip, and a 118kmh in an 80 kmh zone... and both times, the cops wrote at least 20knh under... in the case of the 100knh in a 50 zone, I know I hit closer to 130, and it had been snowing for about 12 hours at that point (sad thing is, I was ready to take a digital pic of the speedo!)

That was the cops' major problem, other than the noise my bull now makes... he said I'm REALLY close to a noise nuisance ticket, and I only got the modified baffle finished yesterday.

LEGAL DISCLAIMER I'm not admitting to the actual, official speeds, on the off-chance that the cops in question could see this site.

kmh?? Cadanian eh? LOL! Well Once when I was still in college I was driving my 72' Dodge Charger, & my friend was in his 65' Chevy Impala SS- we were on a LONG flat smoothe stretch of highway (here in upstate NY) & we'd been playing "Cat & Mouse" averaging about 130-135mph. We'd just slowed down to about 90 (in a then 55 zone) & 2 NY State Trooper Mustangs came outta' nowhere
& damn near ran us over!!! They said they got a call from a trucker a while back, about us going past him "Ridiculously fast!" Of course we pleaded ignorance & said we hadn't gone above 85mph. They knew we were BSing them but couldn't prove it so they wrote us both for 80mph in a 55 zone, cutting us a break cuz "we were young & stupid one too", they said. My buddy & I went to court & the judge actually dropped the charges cuz neither Trooper showed up or wrote supporting
depositions (as we had asked). Whewwwwwwww!!!! Long time ago- 1991 or 92.

i got my 85 in a 40mph ticket just a while back.... just went in... dressed nice, told the judge i was guilty, and got out with only a 150 buck fine and costs....

now i hafta go on nov 11 for my "Careless and Imprudent" ticket for passing in the right lane on a two lane that narrows into one, i went around the slow car and took the 45+ degree turn at speeds "definately around 60mph" according to the cop... he didnt have a gun out, he was a motorcycle cop, but he did time me with some street signs on the side of the road.... so i'm hoping i can get outta that one...

I really dont think i was going that fast, speed limit was 35, i was going 40 originally, and this car was going like, 30, i know it was under the limit, cuz i slowed behind em before making my pass... but from rolling around 30-35, i dont think my bull is THAT fast, to be able to make it up to 60 in under half a residential block......

i got a seat belt CITATION (thats a warning with a fine kinda... a $75 fine that is) in North Carolina (i live in Va, not NC, remember that...) and the part taht gets me so mad is that i WAS wearing my seatbelt. if i could only get my hands on the tape that was recorded from the cops dashboard that day, youd see i was wearing my seatbelt the whole time. i argued with taht cop SOOOO much (unlike me, im a friendly person) and he was like, "ill let you go with just this citation, its just a fine and you will have to do nothing else." yea well i was still prtty mad about that but let it go, UNTIL last week when i got a letter from my friendly neighborhood DMV stating that because i got a seat belt TICKET (I DIDNT THOUGH!)(AND IT WASNT EVEN IN MY STATE) i now have to pay another $75 fine and complete 8 hours of driving school (not to mention that ill cost another $25-$75!!!!!!!). this is ridiculous!!!!!!!! all for not wearing my seatbelt... OH WAIT, I WAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

*sigh*

Well, now that I'm a little more rested up, I'm still not impressed that I got a ticket last night. Maybe I need to figure out what the hell the problem with my car is, because mine WILL go 0-60mph in less than a residential block.... :D

and feels like it's only doing about 35mph.

I got out of a ticket a few years ago. I was going 90 on a 70 on my way to LA and got pulled over. I played stupid saying I had the cruise control on "what I thought" :D was only 75 or 80. Now I was dressed pretty decently because I was going to visit my mom in LA. He asked if it was still under warranty and if I had ever gotten a ticket before. Still under warranty and no tickets before, so he said he had to write me up for something for pulling me over, and he gave me only a $25 seat belt ticket instead of the $200 +20mph speeding ticket with the warning to "get to the dealer and have it looked at." Of course I was wearing my seat belt the whole time, but I won't argue it.

I think I may get the title...

First example: I was in a bad mood and felt like driving fast. I was going 70 in a 40mph zone and blew by a crown vic with lots of antennas. I jammed on the brakes as soon as I realized it was most likely a cop car. When he caught up he pulled up next to me and he looked pissed, I just kinda looked embarrassed and gave a little wave. Then he shook his head and drove off.

Second example: I had two of my friends with me and we were coming home from something(can't remember now). I as in a rush so I was bobbing and weaving through traffic, my speed was varying from 45-75 in a 45mph zone. Then a white van got behind me and flashed some kind of blue lights. I slowed down and the guy yelled at me told me to slow down. He didn't pull me over or anything. Then when he drove off we saw that his license plate said U.S Government on it. Not reallyu sure if he could have given me a ticket anyway.

Thrid example: On my way to school, in a rush, I was going about 80 in a 45mph zone and once I cleared this one turn I just let the car coast. I was going about 60-65 by the time I passed the speed trap, but thankfully the cop with the radar gun was turned to the side talking to the other cops and by the time he saw me the nose of my car was tilted way down because I was stomping the brakes. He just shook his finger at me. I guess I was way ahead of the traffic schedule with the light patterns so they weren't expecting me and I'm guessing they couldn't really hear me coming because I was just coasting.

And of course there's a notorious speed trap in Margate on atlantic blvd and everytime I drive through it I rev at the cops shooting radar.

Those are the only times I can remember getting away with speeding.

Dont argue if your from 18 to 21. They don't care. Especially if it's a small town. Some cop got me for improper passing on the highway in my bull. He said I was speeding when he first noticed me and in court admitted that I was doing 65 in a 65 zone(the speed limit). He then said that he saw me pass from an overpass which was 1000+ feet from where I passed. He said it looked dangerous and I told the judge that I was passing to get around an SUV giving me low visibility but that I had put no one in danger. The cop asked me how old I was and after saying 18 and the cop saying he had been a cop for 9 years the judge said you're guilty and that was that. Just got screwed. Still don't know what I did wrong. Cops suck.

Back in 95 I was racing a friend in his Firebird. One of us was doing 137 in a 35. There was only one cop so when he stopped I kept going I knew a friend that live right down the road so I ran there. Lucky for me he was home and he let me take his car for the night. I helped my other friend pay his ticket it was $250. Later that night my friend took my car out and got pulled over and was questioned about the racing. They didn't do anything to him, but they did call me asking me questions. Lucky for we both had the same story "I went out of town to see my GF and wanted to take his Escort so I didn't spend as much in gas, and he had my car at work with him." We were so lucky, we could have been tossed in Jail and lost our cars for going 100 over MPH.

Many years ago when I was stationed on my aircraft carrier in San Deigo, I was pulling 6 months duty as a Master-At-Arms (police officer on my ship). I worked 3-12 hour shifts then had 3 days off. The shifts alternated between day and night shifts. I ended up getting off shift 2 hours late because of chain of custody and report paperwork that has to be done before leaving. I was unable to contact my then current girlfriend who promised me sexual favors after we had dinner that night. I didn't bother to get out of uniform and took off towards home in Fountain Valley at high speed with only one thing on my mind. Since I was in a great hurry, I drove well over the speed limit (55 at that time). I took my 240Z past 125mph between Oceanside and San Clemente. Just before I got to the 405 - 5 split lights came on my rear veiw mirror. I looked at my speedo and I was still over 85mph. I figured the worst and I was going to jail. I motioned for the CHP to follow me off the freeway to a gas station (my thought was toss the attendenant a $20 and my car won't be towed by the CHP). The CHP officer walked up to the window and said that he has been trying to catch me for 25 miles. He saw me in my uniform with my badge on my shirt and my baton in the passenger seat. He asked what my hurry was and I told him that I am late to meet my girlfriend who has promised me a night I will never forget (her parents were gone for the weekend and this girl was a freak). I could not believe me when he said to get out of here and get home to my girlfriend. I forced myselft to drive 65 the rest of the way home. Whew.

Then others, like me, have a friend who has been in the car everytime i've been pulled over... We would hang out quite often so maybe once every three weeks (mind you during summer we would hang out everyday) with her in the car i'd get pulled over for. Be it for a good reason (46/30) or for ("yeah we saw you double parked back there, but what we were really worried about is drug posession" which mind you no one had or would ever be allowed in the car with) She knows when were about to get pulled just by the way I say "Ah Sh*t". :lol2:

Oh yeah, worst ticket I drove away from was 90 in a 30 (industrial area, no houses, no kids, no wildlife, really no one, except the cops I didnt see around a slight turn)

well, i've gotten tons of speeding tickets. so i'll just mention a few really insane ones that i should of gotten, but got away with. THANK GOD!!

last year, on my way home from Florida, it was about 2am driving through Tennessee (on I-75)... i flew past a cop in a Camaro while i was going 110mph. he radared me cause my radar detector went off all nuts, but he never pulled me over for some reason.

last week, driving to Milan Dragway (on I-94), i flew past a cop while going 110mph. he looked up, radared me, and than never came. i almost peed my pants.

actually, the last couple of times i've been over 100, for some reason its like the cop never bothers to come after me. i don't know why. but i'm glad.

I got a funny one that happened to me when I first got my bull.
A new 15 mile extension on the Loop 202 opened at 12 in the morning and I happened to be going home around that time and I saw Loop 202 sign so I pulled on there and noticed there wasnt one car going either way and its pretty straight for about 5 miles or so. I looked over at my friend and decided to try to top out my Taurus I jammed the gas and was beyond my 85mph speedo in like 2 secs and then we were going so fast it seemed. We had the windows down and we couldnt hear a damn thing and then i thought to look behind me and I noticed a cop with his lights in the far right lane and I was in the far left(fast lane) and I screamed Oh F*** and my friend says looks behind and repeats what I said. Then I hit the brakes not to hard but slowed down and moved one lane to the right then one more then was going about 70 and right as I checked to move to the right lane and pull over I look and VVVRRRRRoooooooMMMMM the cop passes me at like 130 and me and my friend look at eachother and I said welp lets leave and I got off at the next exit about 1/4 mile away. im not sure if the cop was heading to a call or just that I slowed down to fast and he didnt realize IDK. (at the time I had no hub caps and had a CB antenna on the trunk Im not sure If the cop thought I was a UC and was responding to the same call or what.
