Many thanks to someone, I do not remember when or who about the switches in the steering wheel failing, and how easy to replace.

Mine worked fine, but would not shut off with the switch.

Got one at pick a part for $2 and plugged it in.

Cruise works fine.

If it had been the on button, then It would have been more of a rush.

I could find nothing wrong. Maybe not making good contact in the connector, does not matter now.

Double switches, neither worked, not dirty. Junk yard one works fine.

Ah you have the lighted cruise control. odd that it never worked, it's usually the unlighted 2000-early 2002s that have the issue.
